The Bardcher

Simulacrum is a game changer! It takes 12 hours and 1500 gold to complete, but it provides an unequipped exact copy of you and your pet. The simulacrum does not regain spell slots but it doubles the damage of your character. The damage becomes (w/o animated objects and with disengage):

2x( 1d8 + 4 + 2d12 + 2d6 + 4 + 2d12 + 3x(1d6 + 5 + 10 + 2d12)+ 1d6 ) = 2x( 1d8 + 10d12 + 6d6 + 53 )

Note that Blade Flourish only applies once per turn (on the action, not on the second strike nor on the bonus action).

  • Lvl 16: Bard 15 (+Bardic Inspiration (d12) | +Mind Blank)
  • Lvl 17: Bard 16 (+Warcaster feat +Proficiency +1)
  • Lvl 18: Bard 17 (+Song of Rest (d12) | +Foresight)
  • Lvl 19: Bard 18 (+Magical Secrets | +Shapechange +Wish)
  • Lvl 20: Sorcerer 1 (+Divine Soul: Favored by the gods | +Chill Touch +Control Flame +Spare the Dying +Sword Burst | +Absorb Elements +Shield)

Now you have Wish that allows you to cast any spell (level 8 or lower) without meeting its requirement: cast simulacrum at no cost!

Foresight gives advantage to you and disadvantage to your enemies for 8 hours. Shapechange allows you to shapeshift into another creature gaining its HP (consider demi liches or ancient white dragons).

Making your damage reliable

The rotation of this build is based on several attacks performed in the same turn. You want to have a success on each and any attack you perform. Keep you eyes open for upgrades to your gear that inrease the attack bonus. Without any magical help your attack will have the following bonus:

LevelsAttack
Level 1 to Level 4+7
Level 5 to Level 8+8
Level 9 to Level 12+10
Level 13 to Level 16+12
Level 17 to Level 20+13

Also apply advantage anytime you can. And try to keep your pet alive. Remember, you are a Bard and you are supposed to bring utilities to the group: don’t force the others healing your Griffon.

Finally, never forget to replenish your stock of arrows!
