The Bardcher

  • Lvl 10: Bard 9 (+Song of Rest (d8) | +Animate Objects)

Now you use Animate Objects on a turn (Action) and order them to attack the target as the bonus action. Then you use 3 hand crossbow on next turns (first attack, second strike and crossbow expert). Each animated object deals 1d4 + 4 damage (tiny object). The resulting damage is: 10d4 + 40 + 3d6 + 3x(4 + 10).

  • Lvl 11: Bard 10 (+Bardic Inspiration (d10) +Expertise +Magical Secrets | +Message | +Haste +Find Greater Steed)

So now you have a griffon (Find Greater Steed), you can mount it and share your buffs with it. The base Griffon performs 2 attacks (1d8 + 4 AND 2d6 + 4). If you use Haste on you and the Griffon, the pet can perform 3 attacks or perform 2 attacks and a disengage (having you on its shoulder). If both you and the pet disengage (you only perform 3 of the possible 4 attacks), the overall damage with animated objects active is:

10d4 + 40 + 1d8 + 4 + 2d6 + 4 + 3x(1d6 + 4 + 10) = 10d4 + 1d8 5d6 + 90

If both you and the pet stay in melee the damage is:

10d4 + 40 + 1d8 + 4 + 2x(2d6 + 4) + 4x(1d6 + 4 + 10) = 10d4 + 1d8 + 8d6 + 108

  • Lvl 12: Bard 11 (+True Seeing)
  • Lvl 13: Bard 12 (+2 Dex +Proficiency +1)

The increase in DEX brings the damage to:

10d4 + 40 + 1d8 + 4 + 2d6 + 4 + 3x(1d6 + 5 + 10) = 10d4 + 1d8 + 5d6 +93

with disengage. Without disengage the damage is:

10d4 + 40 + 1d8 + 4 + 2x(2d6 + 4) + 4x(1d6 + 5 + 10) = 10d4 + 1d8 + 8d6 + 112

  • Lvl 14: Bard 13 (+Song of Rest (d10) | +Forcecage)
  • Lvl 15: Bard 14 (+Magical Secrets +College Feature: Master’s Flourish | +Tenser’s Transformation +Simulacrum)

Tenser’s transformation lasts 10 minutes, applies to your Griffon and to you and provides: 50 temp HP, advantage, 2d12 force damage for each weapon attack. Master’s Flourish allows you to use Blade Flourish without using Bardic Inspiration (another d6 damage and some utility per turn).
